About the game
Hronka is a daily word arcade. A chain of letter pieces and coloured balls rides a path towards the end of the board, and you aim and fire the ball in your hand into it. Three of a kind collapse, and the letters freed by the collapse land in your tray to spell the day’s phrase. One puzzle a day, the same for everyone.
A gap matters as much as a match. When a run collapses, the gap it leaves closes and pulls the chain back, away from the end — so a good shot buys time as well as letters. Collect enough words and the run is sealed; clear what is left of the board to finish it.
Four tiers — gentle, steady, keen and fierce — and each is a different board shape. The daily board on every tier is proven finishable before it is served, so a day that beats you was one that could have been won.
The words change with the day. Seven sets — song titles, film titles, idioms, proverbs, book openings, verse and the stage — each with its own board motif and its own painted room. The daily is the same puzzle for everyone, and free play deals numbered runs you can quote: run 47 is run 47 everywhere.
